Service, Sandwiches, Healing, and Hope 🍞💛
On July 26th, Metro Heals joined forces with our THRSC family and Hope Delivered Rockwall to fight food insecurity through service and sandwiches.
As part of Hope Delivered’s Food Preparation initiative, our volunteers — medical staff and their families — came together to prepare 975 sandwiches and donate over 400 pantry and hygiene items for our neighbors in need. From peanut butter and jelly to canned goods and toiletries, the generosity on display was a beautiful reminder of what it means to come together to make a big impact.
We’re incredibly grateful to Tammy Shumake for organizing this initiative and creating a warm, purpose-driven environment that continues to make service a meaningful part of our workplace culture.
We’re constantly inspired by how deeply our work family cares — not just for our patients, but for our community. Events like these show us that healing and hope extend far beyond hospital walls.
It starts with service, multiplies through teamwork, and lives on in the lives we touch.
Spotlight: Hope Delivered Rockwall
Hope Delivered Rockwall is a faith-rooted nonprofit on a mission to combat food insecurity across Rockwall and surrounding communities. Rooted in compassion and inspired by Jeremiah 29:11, the organization provides encouragement, nourishment, and practical support to families facing hardship.
Through initiatives like Hope Feeds and Hope Serves, volunteers help prepare meals and deliver groceries, pantry staples, and hygiene essentials to underserved families in the area.
