Feeding Our Community: 14,000 Meals Packed!

With 1 in 6 North Texans facing food insecurity, the impact of hunger and poor nutrition is felt daily — not just in our hospitals, but throughout our neighborhoods. These aren’t distant statistics — they represent our neighbors, our children, our seniors, and hardworking families right here in our community.

At Metro Heals, we know that health starts at home, and access to nutritious food is essential. Food insecurity isn’t just about hunger — it’s about childhood development, mental health, chronic disease prevention, and reducing health disparities across our region.

That’s why we partnered with the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) to support their Food 4 Kids program, which provides weekend meals to children who might otherwise go hungry. Together, our volunteers packed more than 14,000 meals, each one bringing nourishment and hope to a child in need.

We’re proud to support NTFB — a nonprofit serving 12 counties across North Texas, which provided more than 118 million meals in 2024. Beyond food distribution, they offer nutrition education, operate community gardens, and advocate for equitable food access for all.

This event was more than a service opportunity — it was a reflection of our mission in action.
When we come together, we heal together — even just one meal at a time.

Food is Medicine. Service is Healing.
